In the 40th minute, one of Purbrook:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Purbrook. Clarence Flückiger had in the 43rdth minute some difficulties stopping Beat Hilti's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When Lucas Alabor came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the FC Vaduz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas Alabor couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.
