Anto Hilti charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anto Hilti the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A throw-in in the 34th minute of the game was made by Otmar Wyss with Alfred Riesen as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Anton Biedermann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lorenzo Quaderer in the 42nd minute of the match. Stefan Spescha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anton Biedermann having to make a save. Stefan Spescha took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anton Biedermann. Anton Biedermann dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Benno Elkuch was the one to do the kick off. If Stefan Spescha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Southampton AFC booed when Grüne Kobolde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benno Elkuch didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anton Biedermann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rico Figueroa in the 60th minute of play. 61 minutes into the game, Rico Figueroa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Anton Biedermann was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Southampton AFC's Pascal Martini got a free kick in the 65th minute. Rico Figueroa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Karlheinz Hemmerle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Southampton AFC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
