The excitement rose when Borsano AFC's Bruno Di Giambattista after 20 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for S.S.Velletri's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in S.S.Velletri's zone, Eraldo Balzani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristoforo Ascoli came out of the goal and Eraldo Balzani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, S.S.Velletri's Marco Ottavi got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute of the match Ernesto Mucci sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cristoforo Ascoli skillfully saved the ball. Eraldo Balzani recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Borsano AFC's Alvise Lusi got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marco Ottavi was shown his second yellow card after 37 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. An unexpected shot in the 41st minute by Davide Schirru got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Davide Schirru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonello Rotili having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Davide Schirru managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.S.Velletri's supporters rose to their feet, but Davide Schirru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antonello Rotili breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Borsano AFC's Antonello Rotili got control of the ball when Davide Schirru tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Davide Schirru took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Antonello Rotili. Antonello Rotili dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Boguslaw Nakonieczny fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonello Rotili having to interfere. Antonello Rotili showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boguslaw Nakonieczny in the 81st minute of the match. In the 87th minute Alvise Lusi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristoforo Ascoli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
