The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Beppe Baresi helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Lucchese's Beppe Baresi got a free kick in the 6th minute. Lucchese's Fortunato Filice proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Lucchese from getting a goal against them. In the 11th minute, Antonello Papetti left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Alien United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Elia Corna took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cesare Feltrin. Cesare Feltrin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The audience was convinced that Fulvio Casadei's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fortunato Filice was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Fortunato Filice showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fulvio Casadei, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Lucchese's Fortunato Filice played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriano Vinci in the 20th minute of play. Fortunato Filice was a little too slow when Fulvio Casadei got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 23rd minute. The score was now 2-1. After having played for 28 minutes, Adriano Vinci managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alien United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adriano Vinci was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fortunato Filice stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Liam Rolè's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Liam Rolè during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 34 played minutes Alien United got a freekick which was hit by Liam Rolè. Fulvio Larizza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Fortunato Filice tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alien United's Antonello Papetti got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Antonello Papetti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fortunato Filice read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fulvio Casadei stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Liam Rolè ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fortunato Filice was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Liam Rolè managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alien United's supporters rose to their feet, but Liam Rolè was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fortunato Filice breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Alien United fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when Alien United's Fulvio Casadei looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Fortunato Filice showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Liam Rolè, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 63rd minute Fulvio Valcareggi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesare Feltrin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cesare Feltrin came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Lucchese's Cosimo Gualtieri. But to his dismay, Cosimo Gualtieri quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. 72 minutes into the match, Alien United's goal looked a bit too open when Fabio Gismondi came free, but Cesare Feltrin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Antonello Papetti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 93rd minute Fulvio Casadei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fortunato Filice saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Lucchese's zone, Fulvio Casadei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fortunato Filice came out of the goal and Fulvio Casadei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
