In the 8th minute Felice Capone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberigo Salemme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felice Urbani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Damiano Pazienza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabrizio Talone got free with Alberigo Salemme in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Edoardo Andreola fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored HNK RIJEKA's protests and gave Edoardo Andreola a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, HNK RIJEKA's Edoardo Andreola got a free kick in the 24th minute. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Amerigo Panino put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Damiano Pazienza. Amerigo Panino might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Damiano Pazienza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amerigo Panino ran back to his position shaking his head. Fabrizio Talone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberigo Salemme having to interfere. Amerigo Panino succeeded in the game's 38th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind HNK RIJEKA's goalkeeper Damiano Pazienza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. HNK RIJEKA's Damiano Pazienza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amerigo Panino in the 45th minute of play. If Felice Urbani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Felice Capone to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match Elia Gambini shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alberigo Salemme showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Felice Capone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Domenico Flocco's late challenge caught a HNK RIJEKA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Domenico Flocco helped the player get up and apologised. After 55 played minutes Sottomarina AFC got a freekick which was hit by Domenico Flocco. Felice Urbani recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alberigo Salemme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felice Capone in the 66th minute of play. A collision led to Sottomarina AFC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Camillo Costantino hit a great ball. If Felice Urbani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felice Urbani blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Damiano Pazienza having to make a save. In the 75th minute, Amerigo Panino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Damiano Pazienza was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Damiano Pazienza was out of position in the 79 minute of play, and Felice Urbani capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Felice Urbani really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. After a defensive mix-up in HNK RIJEKA's zone, Felice Urbani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damiano Pazienza came out of the goal and Felice Urbani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, HNK RIJEKA's Damiano Pazienza got control of the ball when Felice Urbani tried to sneak it across the goal line. Felice Urbani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
