Spectators: 6689 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1689, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Cosimo Villa made the kick off which started today's match. In the 6thth minute of the game Long Dong who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Perugia's Andrea Baruffa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Fedele Bottone managed to get in a good position for a shot. Soveria Simeri Catanzaro's supporters rose to their feet, but Fedele Bottone was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andrea Baruffa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kalle Ek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrea Baruffa having to interfere. Andrea Baruffa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fedele Bottone went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Soveria Simeri Catanzaro's Long Dong got a free kick in the 24th minute. Soveria Simeri Catanzaro's Armin Di Giuseppe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Soveria Simeri Catanzaro from getting a goal against them. Soveria Simeri Catanzaro's Eugenio Vinciguerra managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Daniele Rosi in the 27 minute of the game. Andrea Baruffa came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Soveria Simeri Catanzaro's Long Dong. But to his dismay, Long Dong quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Fedele Bottone recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Long Dong's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andrea Baruffa was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Fulvio Walcher charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fulvio Walcher the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 42 played minutes Perugia got a freekick which was hit by Fulvio Walcher. After having played for 43 minutes, Kalle Ek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Soveria Simeri Catanzaro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kalle Ek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kalle Ek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Andrea Baruffa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andrea Baruffa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kalle Ek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Soveria Simeri Catanzaro were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Andrea Baruffa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fedele Bottone in the 51st minute of the match. In the 54th minute, Long Dong left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Soveria Simeri Catanzaro fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. If Long Dong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 64 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Perugia! In the 66th minute, Soveria Simeri Catanzaro got a penalty, and Long Dong placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. Kalle Ek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd minute Carmine Riso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrea Baruffa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andrea Baruffa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Long Dong in the 73rd minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 76th minute by Fedele Bottone got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Fedele Bottone took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Andrea Baruffa to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Perugia booed when Soveria Simeri Catanzaro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Long Dong didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kalle Ek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrea Baruffa having to interfere. In the 88th match minute, Perugia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fulvio Walcher to maneuver through the defense. Andrea Baruffa was out of position in the 92 minute of play, and Fedele Bottone capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fedele Bottone really showed his touch with that goal: 0-8. Andrea Baruffa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kalle Ek in the 96th minute. Andrea Baruffa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fedele Bottone, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Soveria Simeri Catanzaro's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
