Spectators: 7323 (Terracing: 5494, Seating: 1684, VIP seats: 145) Pioppa FC's Comunardo Sardella started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Diego Massimini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 12th match minute, Pioppa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfonso Vitelli to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Pioppa FC defense, Emanuele Balestra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fulvio Mariotti. The Pioppa FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fulvio Mariotti should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Comunardo Sardella in the 18th minute of play forced Villa Pamphili's goalkeeper Cristoforo Alfonsi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute of the match, Comunardo Sardella tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Cristoforo Alfonsi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Emanuele Balestra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 28 minutes into the match, Emanuele Balestra notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Pioppa FC's Fulvio Mariotti. Fulvio Mariotti was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Pioppa FC's zone, Diego Massimini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fulvio Mariotti came out of the goal and Diego Massimini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fulvio Mariotti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Massimini in the 37th minute of the match. A collision led to Villa Pamphili getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Amedeo Marconi hit a great ball. In the 43rd minute, Pioppa FC's Comunardo Sardella ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cristoforo Alfonsi. Cristoforo Alfonsi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Diego Massimini to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Diego Massimini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Comunardo Sardella's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristoforo Alfonsi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Ennio Colucci kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. If Diego Massimini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute, Emanuele Balestra ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fulvio Mariotti was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfredo Di Pasquale in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristoforo Alfonsi saved Villa Pamphili from getting behind. Alfredo Di Pasquale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 79th minute by Emanuele Balestra got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 80thth minute of the game Diego Massimini who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pioppa FC's Fulvio Mariotti was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Diego Massimini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Pioppa FC's goalkeeper Fulvio Mariotti, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Alfredo Di Pasquale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 93 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pioppa FC! Fulvio Mariotti went to the wrong direction when Francesco De Cesaris was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Comunardo Sardella recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Comunardo Sardella received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 100th minute. Cristoforo Alfonsi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Villa Pamphili's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
