The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Comunardo Cavaliere received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Fedele Giocondo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 37 minutes of play, Беневенто's Amerigo Anelli made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eugenio Puce was left in no man's land by his defense there!

Amerigo Anelli might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eugenio Puce. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amerigo Anelli ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Enzo Patrizi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Amerigo Anelli had several of the Marechiaro La Gaiola's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 94 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-5 score and a disappointed Eugenio Puce as he didn't even see the shot coming. The Marechiaro La Gaiola fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Беневенто were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
