Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Sabbione's Ciccio Galdi started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Saliceto Panaro's Ercole Persichetti got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ercole Persichetti in the 6th minute of play forced Sabbione's goalkeeper Claudio Menichini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudio Menichini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlo Soccio, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 10th minute, Sabbione's Ciccio Galdi ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ercole Vaiani. Ercole Vaiani yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. If Ercole Persichetti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ercole Persichetti in the 15th minute of play forced Sabbione's goalkeeper Claudio Menichini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Carlo Soccio came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Saliceto Panaro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlo Soccio couldn't finish the play. Claudio Menichini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ercole Persichetti in the 25th minute of play. Saliceto Panaro were awarded a corner in the 26th minute after Sabbione's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Alvaro Senatore took the corner. Ercole Persichetti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio Menichini having to interfere. After 37 played minutes Sabbione got a freekick which was hit by Dave Grossi. Carlo Soccio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Claudio Menichini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sabbione's Claudio Menichini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ercole Persichetti in the 40th minute of play. Ercole Vaiani made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Donato Orioli sent off a good shot on target. In the 45th minute, Ciccio Galdi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Carlo Soccio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlo Soccio made a kick off. A collision led to Sabbione getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Claudio Di Lillo hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Sabbione's Davide Bergomi got a free kick in the 57th minute. 59 minutes into the game, Alvaro Senatore was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saliceto Panaro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sabbione the free kick. Alvaro Senatore hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Ercole Vaiani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciccio Galdi, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Emilio Giorgi hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice moves Ercole Persichetti could shoot a difficult shot in the 68th minute, which Claudio Menichini however easily saved by the left post. Claudio Di Lillo kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. In the 72nd minute, Ercole Persichetti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Saliceto Panaro's Carlo Soccio in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sabbione's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ciccio Galdi in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ercole Vaiani saved Saliceto Panaro from getting behind. Claudio Menichini made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Ercole Persichetti sent off a good shot on target. Saliceto Panaro's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
