In a very dangerous position, a player in Sestri Ponente AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 12th minute. Penalty! When Edmondo Di Francesco came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Sporting Lentiscosa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmondo Di Francesco couldn't finish the play. Emilio Santovito didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 19th minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. Emilio Santovito made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Claudio Spione sent off a good shot on target. In the 24th minute, Fausto Delle Donne left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sestri Ponente AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 27th minute, Claudio Spione got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Claudio Spione recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edmondo Di Francesco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 43rd minute, Fausto Delle Donne left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sestri Ponente AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. The Sporting Lentiscosa fans' excitement grew in the 48th match minute when Sporting Lentiscosa's Claudio Spione looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Claudio Spione made a kick off. Cristiano Casciano hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Camillo Carbonetti managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sporting Lentiscosa's supporters rose to their feet, but Camillo Carbonetti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emilio Santovito breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elpidio Oto struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Emilio Santovito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sporting Lentiscosa. In the 69th minute Claudio Spione shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Santovito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edoardo Busillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filippo Del Gatto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Sestri Ponente AFC's Edoardo Busillo threw himself towards the right post 73 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Filippo Del Gatto, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claudio Spione in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emilio Santovito saved Sestri Ponente AFC from getting behind. Sestri Ponente AFC's Emilio Santovito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudio Spione in the 76th minute of play. If Filippo Del Gatto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Estebano Gasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Emilio Santovito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Sporting Lentiscosa players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
