Concetto Colantoni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Bonanni, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Raimundo Lorenz in the 14thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Concetto Colantoni, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Alessio Pala fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mieszko Lato having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Cittadella AFC's zone, Enzo Crognale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mieszko Lato came out of the goal and Enzo Crognale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Concetto Colantoni made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raimundo Lorenz in the 28th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Collina's zone, Armando Bonanni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Concetto Colantoni came out of the goal and Armando Bonanni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mieszko Lato showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enzo Crognale, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 46 minutes into the match, Cittadella AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Enzo Crognale came free, but Mieszko Lato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Raimundo Lorenz to make the kick off. Ciro Dominici kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. When Armando Bonanni came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Cittadella AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armando Bonanni couldn't finish the play. In the 59th minute, Edmondo Guaita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Armando Bonanni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cittadella AFC were furious when Aurelio Bosso was red carded, 67 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Aurelio Bosso hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Dario Sansoni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Enzo Crognale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Mieszko Lato made a huge save. If Alessio Pala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute, Edmondo Guaita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cittadella AFC's Biagio Sammartano couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 79th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Collina. Armando Bonanni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frank Milanese received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Mieszko Lato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Enzo Crognale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Mieszko Lato made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Milanese in the 91st minute of play forced Cittadella AFC's goalkeeper Mieszko Lato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armando Bonanni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
