The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frank Milanese in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anselmo Corsi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gargallo's Anselmo Corsi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Milanese in the 5th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Gargallo's zone, Frank Milanese stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anselmo Corsi came out of the goal and Frank Milanese tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anselmo Corsi was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Frank Milanese capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Frank Milanese really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Frank Milanese sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Frank Milanese's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anselmo Corsi was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Collina's Concetto Colantoni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Cesarini in the 37th minute of play. Enzo Crognale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Anselmo Corsi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dave Cesarini struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Concetto Colantoni didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gargallo. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Dave Cesarini made the kick off in the second half. Enzo Andreola lost his temper 55 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 55th minute, one of Gargallo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gargallo. The referee gave Collina a penalty, 58 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Dario Sansoni, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gargallo's Anselmo Corsi. 2-0. A collision led to Gargallo getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Dave Cesarini hit a great ball. If Frank Milanese had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute, Claudio De Zorzi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gargallo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Filippo Carta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Concetto Colantoni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ferruccio Peca succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-2 in the 84th playminute. When Christian Serantoni fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gargallo's protests and gave Christian Serantoni a yellow card for diving instead. In the 88th match minute, Gargallo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Serantoni to maneuver through the defense. Anselmo Corsi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Enzo Crognale went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Anselmo Corsi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enzo Crognale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Collina's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
