Claudio Monticelli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. R. C. F. C.'s Claudio Monticelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Esposito in the 22nd minute of play. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for R. C. F. C.! Claudio Monticelli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Esposito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to R. C. F. C. getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Cesare Di Claudio hit a great ball. If Alfonso Carozza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 35 played minutes Donia FC got a freekick which was hit by Alfonso Carozza. If Bruno Esposito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, R. C. F. C.'s Belchior Pacheco threw himself towards the right post 44 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cesare Di Claudio, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruno Esposito to make the kick off. Belchior Pacheco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Demetrio Del Giudice in the 82nd minute of play. Donia FC's Franco Malandra was substituted for Alfonso Carozza. Claudio Monticelli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristoforo Padula in the 91st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alessandro Caroli in the 92nd minute of play forced Donia FC's goalkeeper Belchior Pacheco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Donia FC booed when R. C. F. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesare Di Claudio didn't get a good kick on the ball.
