After the first half Lavagna were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Davide Alfieri stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes, Marinasco AFC's Ciccio Iacovacci shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Adriano Faiella came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Marinasco AFC reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Alfonso Genta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lavagna's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfonso Genta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bianco Aversa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfonso Genta was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 69th minute. Lavagna's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Davide Alfieri blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adriano Faiella having to make a save. Ettore Greco's late challenge caught a Marinasco AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ettore Greco helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Lavagna getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Ettore Greco hit a great ball. Antonio Fabri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Alfonso Genta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bianco Aversa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfonso Genta in the 88th minute of the match. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 89th minute, but Bianco Aversa got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Marinasco AFC hanging dry this time. In the 92nd minute Davide Alfieri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adriano Faiella saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 93 played minutes Lavagna got a freekick which was hit by Amerigo Martelli. After recieving a nice pass, Marinasco AFC's Antonio Trevisani tried to score from far away in the 94th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The Lavagna supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lavagna would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
