Arrigo Lattanzio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvino Campomanes in the 10th minute of play. In the 14th minute Carmine Tassotti suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. In the 17th minute Silvino Campomanes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arrigo Lattanzio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silvino Campomanes might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arrigo Lattanzio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Silvino Campomanes ran back to his position shaking his head. After 23 minutes, Adriano De Amicis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hillerborg and the F.C. Montaletto players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Hillerborg getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Adriano De Amicis hit a great ball. In the 24th minute of the match Alfredo Campitelli shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arrigo Lattanzio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Aldo Martelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aldo Martelli scored 0-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arrigo Lattanzio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hillerborg's goalkeeper Arrigo Lattanzio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 38 minutes, Aldo Martelli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C. Montaletto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aldo Martelli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When F.C. Montaletto's Silvino Campomanes in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Arrigo Lattanzio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emiliano Rainaldi to make the kick off. Arrigo Lattanzio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aldo Martelli in the 58th minute. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Hillerborg's goalkeeper Arrigo Lattanzio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fortunato Antognoni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cosimo De Cristofaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. F.C. Montaletto's Fortunato Antognoni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cosimo De Cristofaro in the 63rd minute of play. Emiliano Rainaldi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Fortunato Antognoni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aldo Martelli's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Arrigo Lattanzio firmly grabbed it by the left post. Arrigo Lattanzio was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Silvino Campomanes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 70 minute of play. F.C. Montaletto's Silvino Campomanes got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 75 minutes into the match, Hillerborg's goalkeeper Arrigo Lattanzio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aldo Martelli. Fabiano Miccoli's late challenge caught a F.C. Montaletto's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabiano Miccoli helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of F.C. Montaletto booed when Hillerborg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabiano Miccoli didn't get a good kick on the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Hillerborg's goal looked a bit too open when Silvino Campomanes came free, but Arrigo Lattanzio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernardo Muto kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. F.C. Montaletto's Silvino Campomanes got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 81 minutes, Aldo Martelli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C. Montaletto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aldo Martelli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Silvino Campomanes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute, Aldo Martelli made a precise shot to the right of Arrigo Lattanzio. Hillerborg's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. In the 93rd minute, Alvise Coletti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 96 played minutes Hillerborg got a freekick which was hit by Adriano De Amicis. F.C. Montaletto's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
