Stra FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Modena FC the free kick. A collision led to Stra FC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Enrico Palmieri hit a great ball. Flavio Madaio hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Stra FC defense, Carlo Mancinelli kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christian Potenza. The Stra FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christian Potenza should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Alberto Gambini took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Andrea Formaggio to make any attempt to save it. Alberto Gambini's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andrea Formaggio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. When Alberto Gambini came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Stra FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Gambini couldn't finish the play. Edmondo Stragapede who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Andrea Formaggio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Alberto Gambini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrea Formaggio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Gambini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Ercole Fata fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Modena FC's protests and gave Ercole Fata a yellow card for diving instead. Ercole Fata kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. With his leg Andrea Formaggio managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Stra FC's Edmondo Stragapede fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Andrea Formaggio was a little too slow when Alberto Gambini got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 41st minute. The score was now 2-1. Edmondo Stragapede hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Edmondo Stragapede could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Andrea Formaggio made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlo Mancinelli to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Stra FC's Flavio Madaio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andrea Formaggio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Andrea Formaggio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmondo Stragapede, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edmondo Stragapede fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrea Formaggio having to interfere. Ercole Fata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Christian Potenza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stra FC's Christian Potenza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Stra FC from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmondo Stragapede in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andrea Formaggio saved Modena FC from getting behind. In the 68th minute Alberto Gambini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrea Formaggio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Gambini in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andrea Formaggio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alberto Gambini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrea Formaggio having to interfere. Andrea Formaggio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmondo Stragapede, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 78th minute Edmondo Stragapede shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrea Formaggio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stra FC's Alberto Gambini got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 83rd minute, Alberto Gambini made a precise shot to the right of Andrea Formaggio. Modena FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Alberto Gambini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrea Formaggio having to interfere.
