Augusto Piola helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Caovilla FC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Augusto Piola hit a great ball. If Fabrizio Campo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabrizio Campo struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Comunardo Zoccolo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Solarolo AFC. The supporters of Solarolo AFC booed when Caovilla FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Corrado Pardini didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute of the match Franco Liberti sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Comunardo Zoccolo skillfully saved the ball. Alfredo Felicetti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Camillo Schirone scored 1-0 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ermanno Pinti, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The attack was good, but when Alfredo Felicetti in the 35th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Cesare Sergi kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. If Alfredo Felicetti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 46 minutes, Alfredo Felicetti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caovilla FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo Felicetti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fabrizio Campo to make the kick off. In the 51st minute Camillo Paganelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ermanno Pinti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 56th minute of the match, Fabrizio Campo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Comunardo Zoccolo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Comunardo Zoccolo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabrizio Campo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 61 minutes of play Caovilla FC's Augusto Piola was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Adriano Romagnoli charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. When Dennis Giacchetti came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Solarolo AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dennis Giacchetti couldn't finish the play. In the 83rd minute, Camillo Schirone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Comunardo Zoccolo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabrizio Campo in the 91st minute of the match. After 93 minutes, Alessandro Alfani mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Solarolo AFC and the Caovilla FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. There was no doubt that Caovilla FC were the better team. Caovilla FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
