Alberto Bosso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciro Montaldi in the 39th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernardo Marulli got free with Alberto Bosso in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 46th minute Ciro Montaldi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Bosso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Florian Gaeta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ciro Montaldi to make the kick off. Arturo Benvenuto kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Bernardo Marulli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Alberto Bosso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
