Emilio Marinucci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugenio Di Loreto in the 21st minute of the match. 25 minutes into the game, Birago's Ermanno Crosta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Necati Umurbay made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Ernesto Foddis who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Emilio Marinucci when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The referee felt a red card was in order, 43 minutes into the game, when Alvaro Staniscia put in a rough tackle. A collision led to Birago getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Emilio Marinucci was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Anthony Scurti showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 48 minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
