After a defensive mix-up in Vittoria's zone, Sever Ceausu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvise Madonna came out of the goal and Sever Ceausu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alberigo Pomponio kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Alvise Madonna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sever Ceausu, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ercole Borrelli got free with Enrico Bruno in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Atletico Roma's Camillo Guerrini managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Eugenio Di Nucci in the 28 minute of the game. Sever Ceausu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Alvise Madonna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alvise Madonna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Rozarius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 34 played minutes Vittoria got a freekick which was hit by Alfonso Albani. Jonathan Rozarius received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Alvise Madonna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Sever Ceausu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atletico Roma's supporters rose to their feet, but Sever Ceausu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alvise Madonna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Alberigo Pomponio fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vittoria's protests and gave Alberigo Pomponio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st minute, Alberigo Pomponio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 44 minutes, Sever Ceausu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atletico Roma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sever Ceausu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonathan Rozarius to make the kick off. Enrico Bruno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Achille Belfiore in the 52nd minute of play. Jonathan Rozarius received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Alvise Madonna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sever Ceausu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alvise Madonna read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. After 59 minutes of play, Vittoria's Armin Sasso made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Enrico Bruno was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ercole Borrelli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Atletico Roma getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Amedeo Cianci hit a great ball. After 68 played minutes Vittoria got a freekick which was hit by Alberigo Pomponio. Atletico Roma's Jonathan Rozarius got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Achille Belfiore kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Camillo Guerrini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvise Madonna having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Atletico Roma's Camillo Guerrini seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Camillo Guerrini the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Atletico Roma protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Camillo Guerrini had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Atletico Roma fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 78th minute. Penalty! Alfonso Albani shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Many of Atletico Roma's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Atletico Roma may have spent more time on the ball, but Vittoria were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
