Despite this Alex Castellini quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 8th minute, Novare AFC's Flavio Giovannelli dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. After 14 minutes of play, Calzoni AFC's Alfonso Di Giandomenico made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfonso Bardella was left in no man's land by his defense there! Calzoni AFC's Alfonso Di Giandomenico got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Novare AFC's Alfonso Bardella played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Di Giandomenico in the 18th minute of play. In the 18th match minute, Novare AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlo Formaggio to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Giovannelli in the 23rd minute of play forced Calzoni AFC's goalkeeper Alex Castellini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Flavio Giovannelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th match minute, Calzoni AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Davide La Penna to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Francesco Raiola in the 28th minute really tested Alex Castellini's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Alex Castellini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavio Giovannelli in the 32nd minute of the match. Alfonso Bardella showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Di Giandomenico, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Flavio Giovannelli's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alex Castellini read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. In the 48th minute, Flavio Giovannelli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Flavio Giovannelli to make the kick off. Alex Castellini stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Concetto Genovese's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Concetto Genovese managed to get in a good position for a shot. Novare AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Concetto Genovese was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alex Castellini breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 59th minute, Carlo Coletti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 61 minutes into the match, Calzoni AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Concetto Genovese came free, but Alex Castellini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Alfonso Di Giandomenico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Novare AFC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Fabio Colasante hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, Calzoni AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Concetto Genovese came free, but Alex Castellini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Concetto Genovese received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Alex Castellini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the game, Diego Ruzzi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Alfonso Bardella was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alex Castellini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavio Giovannelli in the 96th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Calzoni AFC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
