Alberigo Gerosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emilio Vitale having to interfere. Cristiano Filippini blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Emilio Vitale having to make a save. In the 62nd match minute, Roncocesi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudio Profeta to maneuver through the defense. After 64 played minutes Cervia got a freekick which was hit by Cesare Castellazzi. Emilio Vitale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Cervia's zone, Alberigo Gerosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emilio Vitale came out of the goal and Alberigo Gerosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Cervia defense, Alberigo Troiano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emilio Vitale. The Cervia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emilio Vitale should have stopped the shot. If Cristiano Filippini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberigo Gerosa in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emilio Vitale prevented the ball from getting in the gole. During the 95th minute of the match Ferruccio Madaio completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ferruccio Madaio a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Ferruccio Madaio kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
