The referee ignored Olgiate Olona's protests and gave Felice Andreoli a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 21st minute of the game. One of Olgiate Olona:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Don Lombardi:s goal. Camillo De Zorzi struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Flavio Banana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Olgiate Olona. Carmine Pace hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Don Lombardi players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
