Spectators: 6677 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1677, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Aldo Rotondi made the kick off which started today's match. 4 minutes into the match, Herta Vernello's goalkeeper Ernesto De Santis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amedeo Magliocco. If Amedeo Magliocco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Herta Vernello getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Davide Onori hit a great ball. After having played for 9 minutes, Amedeo Magliocco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ciola's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amedeo Magliocco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Aldo Rotondi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernesto De Santis was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Herta Vernello's zone, Amedeo Magliocco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernesto De Santis came out of the goal and Amedeo Magliocco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aldo Rotondi struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Ernesto De Santis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ciola. In the 21st minute, Amedeo Magliocco fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ernesto De Santis, passed just outside the right post. Ernesto De Santis made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Amedeo Magliocco sent off a good shot on target. Emanuele Giampieri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 28 minutes, Ciccio Tozzi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ciola and the Herta Vernello players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 28 played minutes Ciola got a freekick which was hit by Ciccio Tozzi. Aldo Rotondi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Herta Vernello's Bruno Ruzzi got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After 47 played minutes Herta Vernello got a freekick which was hit by Davide Onori. In the 49th minute, Domenico Melone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After a defensive mix-up in Ciola's zone, Emanuele Giampieri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eugenio Troilo came out of the goal and Emanuele Giampieri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 57th minute, Ciccio Tozzi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ciccio Tozzi kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Ciola's Ciccio Tozzi got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Amedeo Magliocco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Ernesto De Santis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ciola's Aldo Rotondi got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Amedeo Magliocco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Ciccio Tozzi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eugenio Troilo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amos Giacchetti, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Eugenio Troilo made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Emanuele Giampieri sent off a good shot on target. After 87 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ciola! When the match had been going on for 90 minutes, Herta Vernello's Cesare Vida got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Eugenio Troilo. After some careless play in the Ciola defense, Amos Giacchetti kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eugenio Troilo. The Ciola fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eugenio Troilo should have stopped the shot. When the final whistle went the supporters of Herta Vernello were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Ciola side.
