If Fabio Ruggeri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Franco in the 13th minute of play forced Borgo Grappa's goalkeeper Amerigo Di Biagio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Fabio Ruggeri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Borgo Grappa's Fabio Ruggeri got a free kick in the 24th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Ciro Gava managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brunate's supporters rose to their feet, but Ciro Gava was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amerigo Di Biagio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Amerigo Di Biagio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ciro Gava in the 32nd minute. Edoardo De Luca came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Borgo Grappa's Fabio Ruggeri. But to his dismay, Fabio Ruggeri quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brunate's goalkeeper Edoardo De Luca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anselmo Franco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ciro Gava received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Amerigo Di Biagio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amerigo Di Biagio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Franco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robustiano Malvin got free with Edoardo De Luca in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Robustiano Malvin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edoardo De Luca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabio Ruggeri in the 64th minute of play. The supporters of Borgo Grappa booed when Brunate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ettore Chiola didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edoardo De Luca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabio Ruggeri in the 66th minute of play. After 67 played minutes Borgo Grappa got a freekick which was hit by Florian Armellini. Zula Plaskis short, quick shot in the 71stth minute got Edoardo De Luca to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Borgo Grappa's Zula Plaski was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 74th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After 78 played minutes Brunate got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Franco. Borgo Grappa's Amerigo Di Biagio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo Franco in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd minute Fabio Ruggeri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edoardo De Luca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Robustiano Malvin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edoardo De Luca. Brunate's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Robustiano Malvin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Zula Plaski was extremely unlucky when he, in the 90th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Anselmo Franco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Borgo Grappa played a much better game than Brunate and deserved their victory. The Brunate players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
