With a little luck, San Lazzaro's Fabiano Selvi got control of the ball when Arturo Petricca tried to sneak it across the goal line. Domenico Pensa kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Fabiano Selvi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Corrado Donadoni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute Corrado Donadoni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabiano Selvi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Attilio Lizzi managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Lazzaro's supporters rose to their feet, but Attilio Lizzi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dave Giacomini breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Attilio Lizzi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dave Giacomini having to make a save. Arturo Petricca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Fabiano Selvi made a huge save. Attilio Lizzi struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Dave Giacomini didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San Lazzaro. Fabiano Selvi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniele Di Martino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 40 minutes into the match, San Lazzaro's goalkeeper Fabiano Selvi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arturo Petricca. Daniele Di Martino's late challenge caught a San Lazzaro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniele Di Martino helped the player get up and apologised. San Lazzaro's Florian Orioli was substituted for Fortunato Di Lullo. The supporters of San Lazzaro booed when Palestro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniele Di Martino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Corrado Donadoni to strike the kick off in the second half. Fabiano Selvi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Corrado Donadoni in the 52nd minute of play. Fabiano Selvi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristoforo Schiacciacasse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Attilio Lizzi managed to get in a good position for a shot. A hard shot 65 in the game by Attilio Lizzi from a close distance when the talented Dave Giacomini managed to make a qualified save. Palestro's players were relieved. Palestro's Dave Giacomini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Palestro from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corrado Donadoni in the 71st minute of play forced San Lazzaro's goalkeeper Fabiano Selvi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Corrado Casadei hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Domenico Pensa struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind San Lazzaro's goalkeeper Fabiano Selvi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arturo Petricca kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. With a little luck, Palestro's Dave Giacomini got control of the ball when Attilio Lizzi tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Domenico Pensa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Attilio Lizzi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Dave Giacomini when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 95 minutes, Florian Orioli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the San Lazzaro and the Palestro players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, San Lazzaro's Florian Orioli got a free kick in the 95th minute. San Lazzaro's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
