Aldo Di Pasquale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Polmone in the 11th minute of play. Alberigo De Leonardis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Flavio Giusto skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 40th play minutes Alberto Serafini shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Flavio Giusto and just under the crossbar into goal. Flavio Giusto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Marzo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frank Polmone to strike the kick off in the second half. Alberto Serafini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Flavio Giusto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frank Polmone hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. If Alberto Serafini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aldo Di Pasquale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Salvucci in the 68th minute of the match. Aldo Di Pasquale made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amerigo Liberti in the 69th minute. After 71 played minutes Faenza AFC got a freekick which was hit by Aldo Madaio. With a little luck, Faenza AFC's Aldo Di Pasquale got control of the ball when Achille Rucci tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Alfonso Marzo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Faenza AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Fortunato Di Giacomo kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Alberigo De Leonardis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Flavio Giusto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. After having played for 90 minutes, Alberto Serafini managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Faenza AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Serafini was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 95th minute, Alfonso Marzo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Flavio Giusto was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Faenza AFC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
