Alfredo Iob was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Franco Tassotti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Iob having to interfere. Ferruccio Placidi's late challenge caught a Betyeta F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ferruccio Placidi helped the player get up and apologised. Ferruccio Placidi hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. A collision led to Montecchio Emilia getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Edmondo Finocchi hit a great ball. If Edmondo Finocchi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristoforo Taddeo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristoforo Taddeo struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Alfredo Iob didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Betyeta F.C..

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dino Scirea made a kick off. Edmondo Finocchi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alfredo Iob showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristoforo Taddeo in the 57th minute of the match. In the 58th minute Dino Scirea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vambola Vest saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristoforo Taddeo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Iob having to interfere. When Cristoforo Taddeo came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Betyeta F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristoforo Taddeo couldn't finish the play. Carlo Candeloro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 70 minutes into the match, Betyeta F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Dino Scirea came free, but Vambola Vest reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute Edmondo Finocchi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vambola Vest saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vambola Vest took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dino Scirea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Despite being the better team, Betyeta F.C. failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
