After some careless play in the HELLAS CATANZARO F.C. defense, Amos Rinaldi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Antonello Pallini. The HELLAS CATANZARO F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antonello Pallini should have stopped the shot. Antonello Pallini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amos Rinaldi in the 8th minute of play. San Pietro were awarded a corner in the 10th minute after HELLAS CATANZARO F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Beppe De Nardis took the corner. Franco Zacchia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amos Rinaldi in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Antonello Pallini saved HELLAS CATANZARO F.C. from getting behind. In the 28thth minute of the game Amos Rinaldi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but HELLAS CATANZARO F.C.'s Antonello Pallini was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Amos Rinaldi sped through HELLAS CATANZARO F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Antonello Pallini. Amos Rinaldi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Antonello Pallini stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amos Rinaldi's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Ettore Castagna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Antonello Pallini read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. In the 39thth minute of the game Amos Rinaldi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but HELLAS CATANZARO F.C.'s Antonello Pallini was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Antonello Pallini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amos Rinaldi in the 40th minute of play. After a rather tough play, San Pietro's Beppe De Nardis got a free kick in the 47th minute. The HELLAS CATANZARO F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. San Pietro were winning 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Amos Rinaldi to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 55 minutes, Amos Rinaldi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Pietro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amos Rinaldi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carmine Carosella could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Antonello Pallini made a huge save. HELLAS CATANZARO F.C.'s Antonello Pallini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save HELLAS CATANZARO F.C. from getting a goal against them. In the 61st minute, Ettore Castagna ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Antonello Pallini was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. After 67 minutes, Fedele Porreca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the HELLAS CATANZARO F.C. and the San Pietro players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of San Pietro booed when HELLAS CATANZARO F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fedele Porreca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antonello Pallini made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Amos Rinaldi sent off a good shot on target. San Pietro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carmine Carosella was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. This resulted in a 0-5 score and a disappointed Antonello Pallini as he didn't even see the shot coming. Domenico Santarelli's late challenge caught a San Pietro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Domenico Santarelli helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of San Pietro booed when HELLAS CATANZARO F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domenico Santarelli didn't get a good kick on the ball. San Pietro's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
