When Arrigo Giancristofaro came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Longiano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arrigo Giancristofaro couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 26th minute of the game. One of Longiano:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lorenzo:s goal. If Dino Biancone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dino Biancone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesare Barillari having to interfere. Cesare Barillari stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dino Biancone's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. The Longiano players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Lorenzo were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Antonello Cameli made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 54 minutes, Arrigo Giancristofaro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Longiano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arrigo Giancristofaro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arrigo Giancristofaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Lorenzo getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Cosimo Antonacci hit a great ball. Cesare Barillari was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Antonello Cameli showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 61 minute of play. In the 64th minute, Christian Brandolini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ennio Faieta in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Antonio Giusto saved Lorenzo from getting behind. Francesco Cinque kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Franco Pari, 71 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 72 minutes, Bernardo Rago mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Longiano and the Lorenzo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 72 played minutes Longiano got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Rago. Cesare Barillari showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antonello Cameli in the 87th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonello Cameli in the 89th minute of play forced Longiano's goalkeeper Cesare Barillari to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lorenzo's Antonello Cameli got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dino Biancone got free with Cesare Barillari in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dino Biancone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Cesare Barillari tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lorenzo's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
