The goalkeeper, Bernardo Mangione, was totally fooled by S.S.C.Napoli's Edmondo Sciascia, who 15 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexander Armellini during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 18 played minutes Pianella got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Armellini. Thanks to some nice moves Bruno Matos could shoot a difficult shot in the 19th minute, which Bernardo Mangione however easily saved by the left post. Alessio Margoni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davide Mazzocchi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Pianella booed when S.S.C.Napoli was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dino Picciano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pianella's Fedele Aversano got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 27 played minutes S.S.C.Napoli got a freekick which was hit by Enrico Gulli. In the 28th minute Davide Mazzocchi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alessio Margoni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Bruno Matos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernardo Mangione was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Amos Nardi took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bernardo Mangione. Bernardo Mangione dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-5.
