Arrigo Galliani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Enrico Gregori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, FC Persico's Anselmo Ramoser got a free kick in the 10th minute. Davide Petrosino took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 11th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Enrico Gregori. FC Persico's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 17th minute Arrigo Galliani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrico Gregori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudio De Carolis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benigno Tono in the 18th minute of play. 19 minutes into the game, Arrigo Galliani was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vergiano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Persico the free kick. After 19 played minutes Vergiano got a freekick which was hit by Arrigo Galliani. The supporters of Vergiano booed when FC Persico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dino Raniolo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flavio Di Leonardo struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Enrico Gregori didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vergiano. After 30 played minutes Vergiano got a freekick which was hit by Attilio Parco. FC Persico's Enrico Gregori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arrigo Galliani in the 38th minute of play. The FC Persico players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Vergiano were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arrigo Galliani stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Emiliano Evani fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vergiano's protests and gave Emiliano Evani a yellow card for diving instead. Emiliano Evani kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 57th minute, Attilio Parco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 59th match minute, Vergiano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Davide Petrosino to maneuver through the defense. After 61 played minutes Vergiano got a freekick which was hit by Edoardo Del Vecchio. Vergiano's Claudio De Carolis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benigno Tono in the 63rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Vergiano's Attilio Parco got a free kick in the 70th minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC Persico's zone, Arrigo Galliani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enrico Gregori came out of the goal and Arrigo Galliani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to FC Persico getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Amedeo Cugini hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudinho Varlamis in the 86th minute of play forced Vergiano's goalkeeper Claudio De Carolis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudio De Carolis came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Persico's Benigno Tono. But to his dismay, Benigno Tono quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Benigno Tono managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Persico's supporters rose to their feet, but Benigno Tono was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudio De Carolis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FC Persico were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
