The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alberigo Canuto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Bellaria booed when Maris was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Bani didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Maris's Attilio Flocco got a free kick in the 19th minute. When Comunardo Melani came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Bellaria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Comunardo Melani couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Maris defense, Ernesto Ottaviani kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emiliano Iovine. The Maris fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emiliano Iovine should have stopped the shot. Emiliano Iovine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Comunardo Melani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Maris's Christian Bani got a free kick in the 29th minute. If Flavio Mori had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dario Tozzi kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Bellaria's Alberigo Canuto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavio Mori in the 43rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Ermanno Raiola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bellaria's supporters rose to their feet, but Ermanno Raiola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emiliano Iovine breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Attilio Flocco to strike the kick off in the second half. Ermanno Raiola kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Alberigo Canuto came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Maris's Flavio Mori. But to his dismay, Flavio Mori quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Attilio Flocco in the 60th minute of play forced Bellaria's goalkeeper Alberigo Canuto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Comunardo Melani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Armando Di Vincenzo kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Attilio Flocco in the 68th minute of play forced Bellaria's goalkeeper Alberigo Canuto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberigo Canuto was a little too slow when Attilio Flocco got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 73rd minute. The score was now 1-3. Emiliano Iovine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Comunardo Melani in the 77th minute of the match. In the 77th match minute, Maris was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Chiavetta to maneuver through the defense. Alberigo Canuto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Attilio Flocco, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Cristoforo Del Greco ran over to the corner to take the kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Maris's Flavio Mori slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alberigo Canuto. That made the score 1-4 after 92 minutes of play. In the 97th match minute, Maris was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Bani to maneuver through the defense. 98 minutes into the match, Maris's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Ottaviani came free, but Emiliano Iovine reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Maris walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
