After 8 played minutes Cesinali got a freekick which was hit by Fabiano Fabrizio. If Demetrio Miccio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th minute, Carter Circelli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Donato Cattaneo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beppe Ronconi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The goalkeeper, Fabiano Oberrauch, was totally fooled by Atletico Monopoli's Ahmet Necdet İmren, who 29 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Edoardo Finocchi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabiano Oberrauch having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Cesinali's goal looked a bit too open when Filippo Loiacono came free, but Fabiano Oberrauch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frank Persichetti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Beppe Ronconi made a kick off. Donato Cattaneo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beppe Ronconi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee felt a red card was in order, 52 minutes into the game, when Ahmet Necdet İmren put in a rough tackle. In the 51st minute, one of Atletico Monopoli:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Atletico Monopoli. The goalkeeper, Donato Cattaneo, was totally fooled by Cesinali's Armin De Bettin, who 54 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Fabiano Oberrauch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Demetrio Miccio in the 59th minute of the match. Edoardo Finocchi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabiano Oberrauch having to interfere. Donato Cattaneo was a little too slow when Beppe Ronconi got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 75th minute. The score was now 1-2. If Edoardo Finocchi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Demetrio Miccio came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Atletico Monopoli fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Demetrio Miccio couldn't finish the play. If Frank Persichetti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 88 minutes into the match, Atletico Monopoli's goal looked a bit too open when Beppe Ronconi came free, but Donato Cattaneo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Demetrio Miccio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Fabiano Oberrauch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
