Merano's supporters rose to their feet, but Beppe Damiani was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruno Castrucci breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 36th match minute, Merano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Leone to maneuver through the defense. Ercole Baur made in the 40th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Armando Sciarretta. Franklin Holzner made an important save on a dangerous shot by Attilio Contestabile in the 45th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ennio Basso made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ennio Basso in the 52nd minute of play forced Merano's goalkeeper Franklin Holzner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Merano's Franklin Holzner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ennio Basso in the 53rd minute of play. In the 60th match minute, Merano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Silvestre to maneuver through the defense. After 66 minutes of play Merano's Bruno Leone was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Bruno Leone hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Ercole Baur took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Franklin Holzner. Merano's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Merano getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Concetto Quattrocchi hit a great ball. Franklin Holzner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ennio Basso, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Alfredo Gaspari struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Franklin Holzner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bagno. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Bagno fully deserved thier win.
