The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cosimo Violento kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. In the 11th minute of the match Ercole Ronconi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adriano Borgatello showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Dave Ciaccia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adriano Borgatello was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Domenico Scirea in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Filippo Altobelli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 26th minute, Bianco Cilli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Magic's Armando Di Lillo got a free kick in the 31st minute. Adriano Borgatello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francesco Tosi in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th minute of the match Cristiano Del Papa shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adriano Borgatello showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 40th match minute, Magic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amedeo Crema to maneuver through the defense. Bianco Cilli kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. A collision led to Magic getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Dave Losito hit a great ball. In the 45th minute of the match Cristiano Del Papa shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adriano Borgatello showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Filippo Altobelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ennio Delle Donne in the 46th minute of the match. Domenico Scirea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filippo Altobelli having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Domenico Scirea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cesare De Santis hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 57th minute, Domenico Scirea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bianco Cilli lost his temper 59 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Magic fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 58th minute. Penalty! Magic:s Adriano Borgatello showed great skill when he stopped Cristiano Del Papa:s penalty. In the 65th minute Francesco Tosi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adriano Borgatello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Dave Ciaccia could shoot a difficult shot in the 73rd minute, which Adriano Borgatello however easily saved by the left post. Domenico Scirea hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Ettore Bonfigli kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Domenico Scirea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adriano Borgatello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francesco Tosi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ennio Delle Donne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adriano Borgatello made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Dave Ciaccia sent off a good shot on target. Amedeo Crema received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Filippo Altobelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cesare De Santis hit a great freekick 99 minutes into the match. The Magic supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching San Lorenzo's performance. The match ended with a win for San Lorenzo.
