Andrea Pili showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabio Vierchowod, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After 27 minutes of play, Marengo AFC's Fabio Vierchowod made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andrea Pili was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 31 minutes, Alberto Nanni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After the first half Marengo AFC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Augusto Del Monaco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56thth minute of the game Comunardo La Penna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Marengo AFC's Concetto Formaggio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Concetto Formaggio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Nanni in the 60th minute of the match. Comunardo La Penna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Piazza's zone, Augusto Del Monaco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrea Pili came out of the goal and Augusto Del Monaco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 66th minute, Anfilogino Aureli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Concetto Formaggio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Comunardo La Penna in the 72nd minute of the match. 74 minutes into the match, Piazza's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Del Monaco came free, but Andrea Pili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute Alberto Nanni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Concetto Formaggio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Enzo Lepre during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
