With his leg Fabrizio Capaldo managed to avoid a goal in the 3rdth minute, when Unione Venezia's Ermanno Porreca fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 4 minutes into the match, Carugate FC's goal looked a bit too open when Antonio Della Francesca came free, but Fabrizio Capaldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Unione Venezia's zone, Flavio Sampo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alex Prisco came out of the goal and Flavio Sampo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fausto De Felice sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Flavio Sampo hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Fabrizio Capaldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Della Francesca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Unione Venezia's Alex Prisco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavio Sampo in the 17th minute of play. If Ermanno Porreca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ermanno Porreca got free with Fabrizio Capaldo in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 24th minute of the game Flavio Sampo made a throw-in which Ferdinando Baresi played forward. Unione Venezia's Biagio Addari shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 26th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Fabrizio Capaldo but with some difficulty. Fabrizio Capaldo was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and Ermanno Porreca capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ermanno Porreca really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. In the 33rd minute Unione Venezia were awarded a corner. Biagio Addari went to the cornerflag to take it. After having played for 35 minutes, Felice Mariano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Unione Venezia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felice Mariano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Biagio Addari stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fabrizio Capaldo came out of the goal and Ermanno Porreca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fabrizio Capaldo came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Unione Venezia's Ermanno Porreca. But to his dismay, Ermanno Porreca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Antonio Della Francesca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felice Mariano scored 4-0 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fabrizio Capaldo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ermanno Porreca struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Fabrizio Capaldo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Unione Venezia. In the 70th minute, Biagio Addari left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Unione Venezia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. If Ermanno Porreca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. Antonio Della Francesca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabrizio Capaldo having to interfere. Unione Venezia walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
