An unexpectedly hard shot by Alessandro Cardano in the 8th minute of play forced Firenze's goalkeeper Attilio Giansante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 11 played minutes Alessandro Cardano rounded Firenze's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Firenze's Attilio Giansante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alessandro Cardano in the 14th minute of play. The supporters of Firenze booed when Zambana Nuova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Zoccolo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute of the match Bernardo Villani sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Domenico Biagetti skillfully saved the ball. Anthony De Sisti hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. If Ettore Di Martino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute, Zambana Nuova's Alessandro Cardano dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. After 47 played minutes, Firenze's Cesare Anastasi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Domenico Biagetti came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Firenze reached it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

With a little luck, Zambana Nuova's Domenico Biagetti got control of the ball when Bernardo Vida tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ettore Di Martino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Emiliano Nanni came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Zambana Nuova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emiliano Nanni couldn't finish the play. If Ettore Di Martino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 63 minutes of play, Zambana Nuova's Ferruccio De Simone made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Attilio Giansante was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 66th minute, Alessandro Cardano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Zambana Nuova fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. 72 minutes into the match, Alessandro Cardano notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Firenze's Attilio Giansante. Attilio Giansante was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Attilio Giansante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferruccio De Simone in the 75th minute of play. With his leg Domenico Biagetti managed to avoid a goal in the 78thth minute, when Firenze's Ettore Di Martino fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 81 played minutes Firenze got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Vida. The supporters of Zambana Nuova booed when Firenze was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferdinando Di Donato didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ciro Benarrivo struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Attilio Giansante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zambana Nuova. After 92 played minutes Firenze got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Vida. After a rather tough play, Firenze's Anthony De Sisti got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Firenze's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
