The supporters of Villa Viani booed when Collesalvetti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amedeo Romanese didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10thth minute of the game Emilio Scutti who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Villa Viani's Anfilogino Domenghini was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Anfilogino Domenghini stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emilio Scutti's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. Franco Pizzi's late challenge caught a Collesalvetti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Franco Pizzi helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Villa Viani's Franco Pizzi got a free kick in the 18th minute. If Emilio Scutti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Emilio Scutti ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anfilogino Domenghini was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. In the 29thth minute of the game Emilio Scutti who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Villa Viani's Anfilogino Domenghini was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ennio Rocco received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ennio Loiacono came out and tried to block the shot, but Ennio Rocco slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 32nd minute. Emilio Scutti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emilio Scutti in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anfilogino Domenghini prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

Emilio Scutti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franco Pizzi in the 65th minute of play forced Collesalvetti's goalkeeper Ennio Loiacono to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 67th minute of the game. One of Collesalvetti:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Villa Viani:s goal. In the 69th minute there was a penalty for Villa Viani. Ferdinando Tabacchi stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ennio Loiacono. 2-3. Emilio Scuttis short, quick shot in the 78thth minute got Anfilogino Domenghini to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Anfilogino Domenghini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudio Garibaldi in the 79th minute of play. In the 82nd match minute, Villa Viani was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franco Pizzi to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 83 minutes, Claudio Garibaldi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Collesalvetti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudio Garibaldi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Claudio Garibaldi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Villa Viani's Anfilogino Domenghini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Villa Viani from getting a goal against them. Collesalvetti's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
