Dave Cancemi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciccio Laurenti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute Inter were awarded a corner. Ciccio Arcari went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 30th minute Fabio Teti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Alessandro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inter's Dave Cancemi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fulvio Grande in the 41st minute of play. Fulvio Grande took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dave Cancemi. Dave Cancemi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Fabio Teti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Alessandro having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Sori's Christian Alessandro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabio Teti in the 55th minute of play. A collision led to Sori getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Antonello Albanesi hit a great ball. Camillo Trotta might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christian Alessandro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Camillo Trotta ran back to his position shaking his head. Fabio Teti blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christian Alessandro having to make a save. When Anthony Lauri fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Inter's protests and gave Anthony Lauri a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Sori booed when Inter was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anthony Lauri didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68th minute Fabio Teti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Alessandro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 70 minutes, Camillo Trotta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter's supporters crossed their fingers, but Camillo Trotta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Christian Alessandro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Camillo Trotta in the 77th minute of the match. Fulvio Grande's late challenge caught a Inter's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fulvio Grande helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Sori's Fulvio Grande got a free kick in the 82nd minute. 84 minutes into the match, Sori's goal looked a bit too open when Camillo Trotta came free, but Christian Alessandro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 85 minutes into the game, Fabio Teti cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Christian Alessandro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Inter had won after a very even match.
