Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Arrigo Taglieri got the match started through his kick off. With a little luck, Villa United FC's Davide Giampietro got control of the ball when Felice Vulcano tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 5 minutes, Federico Pio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Villa United FC and the Canolo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Villa United FC booed when Canolo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amerigo Zoccali didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arrigo Taglieri struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Dennis Rosato didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Villa United FC. 18 minutes into the game, Villa United FC's Cristoforo Marchegiani nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dennis Rosato made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Arrigo Taglieri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Dennis Rosato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arrigo Taglieri in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dennis Rosato saved Canolo FC from getting behind. In the 28th match minute, Canolo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amerigo Zoccali to maneuver through the defense. Arrigo Taglieri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute Cristoforo Marchegiani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dennis Rosato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristoforo Marchegiani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Dennis Rosato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristoforo Marchegiani charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristoforo Marchegiani the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 46th minute, Felice Vulcano made a precise shot to the right of Davide Giampietro. Villa United FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Felice Vulcano to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Canolo FC's Felice Vulcano got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 59th match minute, Villa United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aurelio Puja to maneuver through the defense. Davide Giampietro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felice Vulcano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Arrigo Taglieri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villa United FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Arrigo Taglieri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dennis Rosato breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dennis Rosato didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 68th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. In the 72nd minute, Villa United FC's Enrico Giacchetti seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Enrico Giacchetti the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. In the 73rd minute there was a penalty for Canolo FC. Amos Cangiano stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Davide Giampietro. 2-2. A collision led to Canolo FC getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Achille Vani hit a great ball. Felice Vulcano might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Davide Giampietro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felice Vulcano ran back to his position shaking his head. Dennis Rosato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arrigo Taglieri in the 82nd minute of play. Villa United FC's Davide Giampietro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felice Vulcano in the 88th minute of play. Arrigo Taglieri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Rosato having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Canolo FC's zone, Christian Marinetti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dennis Rosato came out of the goal and Christian Marinetti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Canolo FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
