An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciro Scoca in the 27th minute of play forced SIGH's goalkeeper Anthony Di Girolamo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernardo Walcher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Dino Bernardi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Baura's goalkeeper Dino Bernardi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 33rd minute of the match SIGH got a corner. Baura's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. When Bernardo Walcher came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the SIGH fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardo Walcher couldn't finish the play. Dino Bernardi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enzo Alleva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half SIGH were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ciro Scoca to make the kick off. Bernardo Walcher received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal.
