After a defensive mix-up in Brighton F.C.'s zone, Dave Silveri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amos Masi came out of the goal and Dave Silveri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Teofan Madev made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arturo Marinucci in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute of the match Dave Rubini shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Teofan Madev showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 16 played minutes Dave Rubini shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Audace Sanvito Empolitana's Teofan Madev to catch but Dave Rubini was lucky. It became 1-0 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. 19 minutes into the match, Armin Valcareggi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Teofan Madev. Audace Sanvito Empolitana's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armin Valcareggi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Dave Silveri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amos Masi having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Brighton F.C.'s Alessio Silvagni slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Teofan Madev. That made the score 3-0 after 28 minutes of play. Amos Masi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristoforo Colantonio, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. If Alessio Silvagni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The long shot by Ferdinando Gentile in the 41st minute really tested Teofan Madev's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Teofan Madev made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alessio Silvagni in the 42nd minute. Eugenio Di Massa succeeded in the game's 45th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 4-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The wind increased when Alessio Silvagni made the kick off in the second half. Ermanno Ferraris hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Audace Sanvito Empolitana's Teofan Madev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alessio Silvagni in the 63rd minute of play. When Arturo Marinucci came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Brighton F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arturo Marinucci couldn't finish the play. 69 minutes into the game, Eugenio Di Massa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Teofan Madev was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Arturo Marinucci came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Brighton F.C. fans jumped to their feet. In the 73rd minute, Eugenio Di Massa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arturo Marinucci in the 86th minute of play forced Audace Sanvito Empolitana's goalkeeper Teofan Madev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Audace Sanvito Empolitana's Dave Silveri got a free kick in the 91st minute. Armin Valcareggi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Teofan Madev. Audace Sanvito Empolitana's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 94th minute, Arturo Marinucci left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brighton F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Brighton F.C. fully deserved thier win.
