Claudio Di Palma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Aurelio Mazzone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 8th minute Claudio Di Palma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Mazzone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Scampetto FC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Fortunato Romagnoli hit a great ball. 10 minutes into the game, Fulvio Grimaldi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Aurelio Mazzone was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aurelio Mazzone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fulvio Grimaldi, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Scampetto FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fulvio Grimaldi came free, but Aurelio Mazzone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fulvio Grimaldi in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aurelio Mazzone saved Scampetto FC from getting behind. If Fulvio Grimaldi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the match, Poggibonsi's Fulvio Grimaldi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aurelio Mazzone narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 31st minute, Claudio Di Palma ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aurelio Mazzone was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Scampetto FC's Aurelio Mazzone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudio Di Palma in the 34th minute of play. Claudio Di Palma struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Aurelio Mazzone didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Poggibonsi. 39 minutes into the match, Claudio Di Palma had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aurelio Mazzone. Scampetto FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claudio Di Palma was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After some careless play in the Scampetto FC defense, Claudio Di Palma kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aurelio Mazzone. The Scampetto FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aurelio Mazzone should have stopped the shot. After 45 played minutes Poggibonsi got a freekick which was hit by Daniele Falcone. 47 minutes into the match, Poggibonsi's Fulvio Grimaldi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aurelio Mazzone narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fulvio Grimaldi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Aurelio Mazzone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Christian Pazienza to strike the kick off in the second half. Claudio Di Palma blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aurelio Mazzone having to make a save. Claudio Di Palmas short, quick shot in the 54thth minute got Aurelio Mazzone to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Scampetto FC's Aurelio Mazzone proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Scampetto FC from getting a goal against them. Aurelio Mazzone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fulvio Grimaldi, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Christian Pazienza charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christian Pazienza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 59th match minute, Scampetto FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Pazienza to maneuver through the defense. When Fulvio Grimaldi, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 60 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Aurelio Mazzone was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Fortunato Romagnoli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Ettore De Lorenzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dario Odisio hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Fulvio Grimaldi put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Aurelio Mazzone. After 67 played minutes Scampetto FC got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Giorgio. Aurelio Mazzone stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fulvio Grimaldi's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fulvio Grimaldi in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aurelio Mazzone prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Claudio Di Palma managed to get in a good position for a shot. Poggibonsi's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudio Di Palma was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aurelio Mazzone breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fulvio Grimaldi in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aurelio Mazzone prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 83 minutes of play, Poggibonsi's Fulvio Grimaldi made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aurelio Mazzone was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 85 played minutes Scampetto FC got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Arioli. Poggibonsi's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Felice Faiella in the 88th minute. Dario Odisio made a great header on Poggibonsi's corner, it was just that Scampetto FC's Aurelio Mazzone managed to reach the ball for a save. Claudio Di Palma was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 91st minute. Poggibonsi's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Fulvio Grimaldi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aurelio Mazzone read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Claudio Di Palma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Aurelio Mazzone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dario Odisio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
