Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Francesco Del Greco kicked off to start the match. After 2 played minutes Gambettola AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ciro Caccia. If Amedeo Fanfarone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute Fulvio Grimaldi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enzo Pietropaolo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Gambettola AFC's zone, Dario Odisio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enzo Pietropaolo came out of the goal and Dario Odisio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fulvio Grimaldi in the 22nd minute of play forced Gambettola AFC's goalkeeper Enzo Pietropaolo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enzo Pietropaolo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fulvio Grimaldi in the 23rd minute of the match. Poggibonsi's Alvaro Ursini got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 27 played minutes Poggibonsi got a freekick which was hit by Dario Odisio. Gambettola AFC's Enzo Pietropaolo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Gambettola AFC from getting a goal against them. If Fulvio Grimaldi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Poggibonsi's Fulvio Grimaldi dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Antonio Toninelli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ettore De Lorenzi came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Gambettola AFC's Amedeo Fanfarone. But to his dismay, Amedeo Fanfarone quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Gambettola AFC's Comunardo Pesce got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

If Claudio Di Palma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dario Odisio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enzo Pietropaolo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Enzo Pietropaolo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Di Palma, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Fulvio Grimaldi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ettore De Lorenzi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francesco Del Greco in the 66th minute. The supporters of Gambettola AFC booed when Poggibonsi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniele Falcone didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enzo Pietropaolo came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Poggibonsi's Claudio Di Palma. But to his dismay, Claudio Di Palma quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After having played for 72 minutes, Alvaro Ursini managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Poggibonsi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alvaro Ursini was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ciro Caccia kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 74th minute Claudio Di Palma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enzo Pietropaolo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, Gambettola AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Fulvio Grimaldi came free, but Enzo Pietropaolo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Fulvio Grimaldi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Enzo Pietropaolo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fulvio Grimaldi in the 87th minute of the match. 92 minutes into the match, Poggibonsi's goalkeeper Ettore De Lorenzi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antonio Toninelli. In the 94th minute, Gambettola AFC's Antonio Toninelli dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
