In the 2nd match minute, Sporting Flora was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniele Ramoser to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Sporting Flora's Alessandro Tarulli got control of the ball when Dario Odisio tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Ferruccio Martini came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Sporting Flora fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ferruccio Martini couldn't finish the play. 11 minutes into the game, Francesco Balestra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sporting Flora's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Poggibonsi the free kick. The supporters of Poggibonsi booed when Sporting Flora was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francesco Balestra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fedele Flamini took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alessandro Tarulli. Sporting Flora's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Alessandro Tarulli made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Fulvio Grimaldi sent off a good shot on target. In the 15th minute Daniele Falcone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alessandro Tarulli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Sporting Flora's Ferruccio Martini in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Poggibonsi's goalie prevented a goal. 21 minutes into the game, Dario Odisio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 23rd minute, one of Poggibonsi:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Poggibonsi. Achille Valcareggi placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! In the 26th minute Ferruccio Martini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ettore De Lorenzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alessandro Tarulli was a little too slow when Alberigo Lelli got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 1-0. Fulvio Grimaldi came free with the goalkeeper in the 32nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Alessandro Tarulli could save by the left post. Sporting Flora's Alessandro Tarulli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberigo Lelli in the 35th minute of play. Sporting Flora's Alessandro Tarulli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Flora from getting a goal against them. In the 43rd minute Alberigo Lelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alessandro Tarulli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enrico Di Nino hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ferruccio Martini to make the kick off. Alberigo Lelli struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Alessandro Tarulli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Poggibonsi. Alessandro Tarulli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberigo Lelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Sporting Flora getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Alfredo Milani hit a great ball. The supporters of Sporting Flora booed when Poggibonsi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adriano Rubini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Donato Marziali hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Damiano Guidone charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Damiano Guidone the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Poggibonsi were awarded a corner in the 76th minute after Sporting Flora's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Felice Faiella took the corner. When Alfredo Milani fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting Flora's protests and gave Alfredo Milani a yellow card for diving instead. After 77 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sporting Flora! In the 78th minute there was a penalty for Poggibonsi. Felice Faiella stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alessandro Tarulli. 3-0. After 83 played minutes Poggibonsi got a freekick which was hit by Adriano Rubini. Achille Valcareggi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alessandro Tarulli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dario Odisio in the 93rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Sporting Flora defense, Alberigo Lelli kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alessandro Tarulli. The Sporting Flora fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alessandro Tarulli should have stopped the shot. Sporting Flora's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
