The referee felt a red card was in order, 18 minutes into the game, when Edoardo Orsi put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Augusta Taurinorum fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 18th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Elia Brillante, was totally fooled by Eporediao Athleticao's Eraldo Molinari, who 21 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Edmondo Cassone might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Francesco Muzi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edmondo Cassone ran back to his position shaking his head. 26 minutes into the match, Augusta Taurinorum's Ettore Cerrone sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Francesco Muzi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Carlo Allemandi fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Eporediao Athleticao's protests and gave Carlo Allemandi a yellow card for diving instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carter Ciccone to strike the kick off in the second half. After 55 minutes, Christian Coscarella mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eporediao Athleticao and the Augusta Taurinorum players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 86 played minutes Eporediao Athleticao got a freekick which was hit by Carlo Allemandi. Many of Augusta Taurinorum's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Augusta Taurinorum may have spent more time on the ball, but Eporediao Athleticao were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
