In the 4th minute, Achille Brandini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alex Miccoli stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ettore Ingegno's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. 8 minutes into the game, Ettore Ingegno cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Alex Miccoli was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Amos Papetti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Achille Brandini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Bolhamburg getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Eugenio Rotondi hit a great ball. When Damiano Piscopo fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bolhamburg's protests and gave Damiano Piscopo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Salk fc booed when Bolhamburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damiano Piscopo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute of the match Claudio Gaudino sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ermanno Grasso skillfully saved the ball. In the 28th match minute, Bolhamburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arrigo Casiraghi to maneuver through the defense. Ermanno Grasso made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Amos Papetti sent off a good shot on target. In the 30th minute, Bianco Orecchioni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amos Papetti got free with Ermanno Grasso in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In a very dangerous position, a player in Salk fc fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 38th minute. Penalty! Salk fc's Alex Miccoli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Achille Brandini in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ettore Ingegno stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Achille Brandini could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Alex Miccoli made a huge save. Alex Miccoli was a little too slow when Ettore Ingegno got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 0-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ettore Ingegno in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alex Miccoli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 65 minutes, Amos Papetti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salk fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amos Papetti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 67th minute, Achille Brandini made a precise shot to the right of Alex Miccoli. Salk fc's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. If Achille Brandini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ettore Ingegno made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 73rdth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Alex Miccoli would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. After some careless play in the Salk fc defense, Achille Brandini kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alex Miccoli. The Salk fc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alex Miccoli should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Salk fc's zone, Ettore Ingegno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alex Miccoli came out of the goal and Ettore Ingegno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpected shot in the 85th minute by Achille Brandini got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 87 minutes into the match, Salk fc's goal looked a bit too open when Ettore Ingegno came free, but Alex Miccoli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alex Miccoli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ettore Ingegno in the 91st minute of play. Salk fc's Filippo Masi got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
