Attilio Rosi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciccio Loody, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the match, A.c. Picchia's Enrico Filice sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Attilio Rosi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fausto Pascali recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fabio Caiola succeeded in the game's 41st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. The audience was convinced that Ciccio Loody's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Attilio Rosi was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Through an outstanding action, after 47 minutes, Attilio Rosi successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

In the 53rd minute, Ferdinando Grasso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fulvio Porreca was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. 56 minutes into the match, Ciccio Loody had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Attilio Rosi. Capodimonte AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ciccio Loody was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. When the match clock showed 71 minutes, the score became 5-2 when Ciccio Loody sped through Capodimonte AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Attilio Rosi. In the 77th minute Antonello Grieco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fulvio Porreca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Capodimonte AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
